Rick had played 371 league games, scored 53 goals and made 131 appearances in the highest divisions of the English Leagues. In cup football he played 92 games and scored 12 goals. His career total was 462 games played and 65 goals scored.When Rick retired from his Football League playing career he settled in the Isle of Man and amassed another 199 games and 105 goals in league and cup games. This is the forthright story of his ‘second’ playing career, including the obstacles he had to encounter to overcome the prejudices and resentment that he had to endure in his quest to make the Isle of Man a great footballing nation!
